Prayer Ministry

A Model for Prayer Ministry

  1. Questioning
    • ask what the person wants Jesus to do for them today
  2. Waiting
    • keep dialogue to a minimum
    • watch while you pray silently
  3. Listening
    • to the Holy Spirit
    • to the person
  4. Praying
    • silently: in tongues
    • aloud: inviting, asking, blessing
    • together: confessing, thanking
  5. Exercising gifts
    • discerning the Father’s will
    • laying hands on the person
    • speaking out scripture
    • words of knowledge, pictures and wisdom
  6. Referring
    • see your doctor
    • would you a member of the pastoral team to visit in the week?
    • would you like to talk to a pastoral leader?
    • would you like to come back next week?
  7. Concluding
    • pray for protection
    • pray for God’s love to surround the person
