New Launch Interns

Posted on 15 September 2008 at 9:00am by Ben

A very warm welcome to Naomi Tyrie and Nikitta Stocker, the new Launch gap-year students, who start working for us today (15 September).  They will be working mainly at All Saints’ for the next year, as part of the staff team.

Please welcome them, and invite them round for a coffee, or for dinner.  They will be living together in Thornaby, and are on the lookout for part-time work to support themselves while they work for us.

Website Phase 2

Posted on 12 September 2008 at 9:00am by Rob

Welcome to Phase 2 of our website.  The design is basically the same, but there are lots of new features:

  • Sermons – we have a fully-functional audio sermons section, complete with audio streaming and podcast.
  • Calendar – the site now automatically loads the same calendar that Rob uses, so it’s always up to date.
  • Our , youth and adult pages have been expanded and updated.
  • News – all the latest events and news from All Saints.
  • Now you no longer need to ring the office to find out when you’re doing the readings, prayers, cleaning, or whatever – our rotas are now online.
  • If you ever wanted to know who’s on PCC, what it stands for, or how long the staff team have been Christians, the About Us section has it all.
  • Back copies of the In Touch magazine are available here.
  • If you need something to read or listen to, try our recommended books or music pages.
  • And if you have insomnia, try reading all the church policy documents.

If you click on a link that doesn’t work, please use the contact form to notify the church office, and we’ll get it sorted.  Or, you can log it on the website code page.

Please let us have any feedback you have on the site, negative or positive, so we can make it better.

A term of vision

Posted on 5 September 2008 at 10:36am by Ben

Starting on Sunday 7 September, John and the preaching team will be taking us through the biblical understanding of vision, and asking where we as a church are heading, how we can grow together and realise the vision that God has given us.

Sermons from the series will be available on our website.

Also this term Julia and Jan have revamped the children’s work, renaming the groups and introducing some new events.  Check out the childrens section for more information.

Sound system update

Posted on 1 September 2008 at 5:34pm by Ben

After several months of negotiations with the council, we have ordered some new sound equipment, which we are hoping to have installed and working by the end of the month.

We have replaced the acoustic drum kit with an electronic one, and rearranged the main speakers to improve the direction of the sound.  We are very excited about having a full band lead our worship again.
