Position within the Church: Curate of All Saints, St Mary’s Longnewton and Stockton Parish Church.

How long have you been a Christian? All my life.

How and why did you become a Christian? I grew up with Jesus and as I grew older and matured so did my faith in him. I am a Christian because I am convicted that the only way I can live my life is in a relationship with God. When life gets difficult, and it has, I know that God is ever faithful and loves us no matter what.

What are your hobbies and interests? Since moving back up north I have been reunited with my Violin and enjoy playing both in an orchestra and at Stockton as part of our worship group. I love growing vegetables in my garden, although this year I have done battle with caterpillars over who gets to eat the brasicas, me or them. I also enjoy spending time with friends exploring the wonderful countryside around Stockton – tea and the conversation that goes with it are a necessity in life!

Do you have any family who attend church? I was brought up in a Christian family and I rejoice that my parents and siblings go to church, and did I mention that my only godchild is my 91 year old grandad!

What are your aspirations for All Saints’ Church for the next 12 months? I would like to see All Saints growing numerically and its members deepening their relationship with Jesus. I would love to see the youth work and young adult work grow, with more and more people my age coming to know and love Jesus. My other hope is that as a church we would grow in partnership with local churches, supporting, encouraging and equipping one another in our mission to grow the Kingdom of God.

What are your long-term desires for All Saints’ Church? The same as above but that also members of All Saints will be sent out both here in the UK and around the world as pastors, teachers, missionaries and evangelists – especially those who at present part of our children and young people’s work.

Finally, what has been the best advice/guidance that somebody has given you as a Christian? We work out of our rest in God rather than rest to enable us to work. Rest is a gift to be enjoyed, God rested and so should we.
